This is NOT right

Hi Res Tetris

Yikes.

Deebs 03-11-2009 04:22 PM

You are so right, it is very wrong. I haven't played Tetris in a long time! I miss the annoying music.

Kevy Baby 03-11-2009 04:24 PM

Holy crap. That is for some serious time-killing capacity.

lashbear 03-11-2009 06:07 PM

How long would it take to finish?

Chernabog 03-11-2009 06:34 PM

On my widescreen monitor I think I could sit here for an hour with the enter key pressed and not lose the game.

Disneyphile 03-11-2009 07:06 PM

That hurts my eyes.

Cadaverous Pallor 03-11-2009 08:18 PM

omg. I played this forever, then paused, which has a countdown clock of 5 min. I unpaused only to find that it doesn't let you pause again. Then I got unnerved and screwed up! :p

Alex 03-12-2009 07:38 AM

For the record, I left this running when I left work yesterday. So about 13.5 hours between then and my return this morning.

I still had not lost and this is what resulted:

wolfy999 03-12-2009 07:40 AM

I gave up within a few minutes......time is something I'm lacking these days.

Capt Jack 03-12-2009 08:07 AM

That's kind of where I am too. I have the time right now, but not the patience. Plus, I still don't feel like it's Tetris without the music and the severe time constraint. I know I have my old Tetris game somewhere, but I could never find my old Game Boy, though I know it is lurking somewhere around here. Do they make it for Nintendo DS? I should know that!

wolfy999 03-12-2009 08:38 AM

Yes they have it for DS, at least you used to be able to get it.

Alex 03-12-2009 08:42 AM

I'm pretty sure Tetris has been ported to any device remotely capable of creating the illusion of movement through pixels.

I guess so.

She didn't lose. She just placed a piece wrong in a quest to get just one line finished and quit after that.

flippyshark 03-12-2009 08:54 AM

The DS Tetris is great! It's got charmingly retro Nintendo characters. (old school Mario, Link, etc.) it also has online options, which I have never explored. flippyshark sez: Check it out!

Anyone remember magic rocks?

Ghoulish Delight 03-12-2009 09:02 AM

This thread's going to make me go dust off the old NES

alphabassettgrrl 03-12-2009 10:34 AM

I remember magic rocks. Never did them, but I remember seeing the ads for 'em.

Betty 03-12-2009 10:56 AM

Magic Rocks! I love those. Did them as a kid and then with my kids. I wonder how they work... never looked... and now I must.

Alex 03-12-2009 11:59 AM

Here you go.

Cadaverous Pallor 03-12-2009 12:49 PM

The only way to lose at Tetris is to have the pile touch the top of the screen. In real Tetris, the pieces come down the middle every time, so you can lose really quickly. In this version they come down randomly, across a humongous field, so it would take. a. while.

GD's right, I did not lose, I quit. I would like to finish one row and see how long that takes. I'd bet 25 minutes.
