Scoundrel Broke His Ankle!

We don't know how it happened but he started limping. I took him to the vet today and he has a broken ankle. He will be having surgery tomorrow to pin the ankle back together then he will wear a cast or splint after that. Poor guy! I'm hurting for him right now. :(

I know for some of you he's "the favorite" (I also know some of you hate the brat). Whatever your opinion of him, please keep him in your thoughts tomorrow.

Kevy Baby 04-01-2009 07:21 PM

Oh, poor Scoundrel.

Get well soon!

Cowsy, Patches & Lightning have Scoundrel in their thoughts right now and sending love and kitty hugs their way!

CoasterMatt 04-01-2009 09:01 PM

Poor guy. Best wishes to the two of you, too.

Cadaverous Pallor 04-01-2009 09:03 PM

:(

Kind of ironic, since he hates ankles.

Much love to poor Scoundrel.

Eliza Hodgkins 1812 04-01-2009 09:03 PM

I bet he got drunk, chased a boy, and slipped in a beer puddle. Isn't that how all ankles are broken?

Prudence 04-01-2009 09:22 PM

Ooooof! And we all know what great patients cats make! Hope you all survive the convalescence.

~MS~ 04-01-2009 09:32 PM

Poor scoundrel and hims mommy :(

Disneyphile 04-01-2009 09:39 PM

Poor kitty! :(

Scoundrel, may you heal quickly and soon return to your favorite hobby of terrorizing everyone around you. We love you, you fuzzball!

Strangler Lewis 04-01-2009 09:43 PM

Hope it goes well for all of you.

Andrew 04-01-2009 09:51 PM

Sorry to hear about the broken kitty and hope he's all better soon!

ToriBear 04-01-2009 09:55 PM

Poor little Scoundrel! I hope he'll be much better soon!

lashbear 04-01-2009 10:26 PM

Tell him we'll be there to give kisses soon.

Stan4dSteph 04-02-2009 06:23 AM

Best wishes for Scoundrel, even though he would probably hiss at me. :p

Betty 04-02-2009 06:40 AM

Kitty! KITTY! Now why did you go and do that? There there little kittymeow. Your Mommy will take care of everything and make it all better.

blueerica 04-02-2009 06:47 AM

Aww, Scoundrel!! I'll be thinking of him today..

flippyshark 04-02-2009 07:49 AM

Scoundrel was the first cat to give me kitty lovin's when I first visited. So, of course I'm in the "love Scoundrel" camp!

Get Well, you rascal you!

Snowflake 04-02-2009 07:56 AM

I heart Scoundrel! Get well soon!

wendybeth 04-02-2009 08:12 AM

Poor kitty boy! Big hugs from all of us!

Chernabog 04-02-2009 08:14 AM

I'm sure he'll be back to normal and hissing at me soon ;)

Deebs 04-02-2009 09:09 AM

Poor Scoundrel. I'm wishing him luck today.

Motorboat Cruiser 04-02-2009 09:15 AM

Healing thoughts sent from the both of us to adorable little Scoundrel! :(

Ponine 04-02-2009 09:22 AM

What a goof. He was prob stealing someone else's toy, or doing something equally silly.

I hope he feels better. Maybe, just maybe, I will bring my purse back to play.

mousepod 04-02-2009 09:55 AM

I know the cast will be tiny. Will there be a lottery to decide who gets to sign it?

Tom 04-02-2009 09:57 AM

Here's hoping he's back to Scoundreling in no time.

Not Afraid 04-02-2009 10:37 AM

I love the two Scoundrel camps. He DEFINITELY has opinion about who and what he likes and who or what he doesn't like. Andris wold come over and as soon as he knocked on the door Scoundrel would start with the attitude. It's a good thing he's cute! And, if he lives you, he LOVES you. I think he's the ultimate barometer of who is a cat person and who is not.

I haven't heard from the vet today yet. I'll post when I know what's up.

RStar 04-02-2009 10:47 AM

Oh, good luck and complete healing to scoundrel!

Drince88 04-02-2009 10:49 AM

Jaxie and I send lots of healing thoughts to Scoundrel!

Moonliner 04-02-2009 11:01 AM

Taking animals to the vet is always heart wrenching.

The "Why are you doing this to me daddy" look they always give you. :(

Good luck to the little guy. I hope that one day I can be put to the scoundrel test.

Not Afraid 04-02-2009 11:03 AM

He will be having surgery at 12:30. I will call back at 3 to see how things went.

cirquelover 04-02-2009 12:00 PM

Poor kitty! Sending healing vibes your way.

second class citizen 04-02-2009 12:24 PM

Best wishes to Scoundrel!

GET WELL SOON!

Not Afraid 04-02-2009 07:30 PM

He didn't have to have surgery! But he is in a cast - a giant blue smurf cast. And he's NOT happy about it. He's got to be crated for a month. But, no surgery and it was quite a bit cheaper (thank god!).

Thanks for all of the good wishes. it was good day, considering.

Cadaverous Pallor 04-02-2009 07:34 PM

Crated for a MONTH? :( Poor guy. Glad it isn't too bad though.

Not Afraid 04-02-2009 07:43 PM

Well, he will be taken out and played with and petted. But, for the most part, he's on light duty. And, he's on a diet.

Gemini Cricket 04-02-2009 07:47 PM

Poor kitty. Well, at least this will help him get better. I hope he doesn't try to attack his own cast.
Poor Scoundrel.

innerSpaceman 04-02-2009 08:36 PM

I keep reading this thread as Ankle Broke His Scoundrel. But I suppose he'd rather be dyslexic than cast-bound and crated up.

Here's to a quick recovery, kitty!

~MS~ 04-02-2009 08:47 PM

That is great that he didn't need surgery but he's going to be stir crazy before his confiment is up...lots of hugs and petting and once in a while a nom nom treat...even if he is on a diet.

blueerica 04-03-2009 06:30 AM

Give him extra pettins and belly rubs for me!

And, the diet is probably a good thing... poor guy!

Snowflake 04-03-2009 08:21 AM

Yay! Good news, except the crating. More extra pets from me. Get well soon little bugger!

flippyshark 04-03-2009 12:38 PM

I hate to add insult to scoundrel's injury, but, if he's willing, I'd love to see a photo of the poor thing as he's convalescing.

Strangler Lewis 04-03-2009 12:54 PM

Congrats on the-relatively-good news.

Deebs 04-03-2009 01:02 PM

Yes, good news for your bank account, bad news for the confined feline. Poor baby, a month in prison with intermittent play and pet breaks. That'll teach him -- to not do, uh, whatever it was that got you all into this mess. :p

If I were in NA's shoes and had a choice, I would take the hit to the bank account instead of a month-confined cat.

Ghoulish Delight 04-03-2009 01:27 PM

Except I don't imagine that surgery would have resulted in LESS recovery time.

Not Afraid 04-03-2009 08:22 PM

Oh no. Surgery would have resulted in 6 weeks in a crate. Plus, all of the other dangers of surgery are not to my liking.

He's doing great. He's actually enjoying his convalescing.

RStar 04-04-2009 09:31 AM

Good news! I hope the month goes quickly, and healing is complete!
