Cemetery Screenings

Nothing posted officially - but according to their tweets the season kicks off on the 16th with Cool Hand Luke. But of greater interest is the possibility of a Wickerman screening on the Summer Solstice - I'll definitely make plans to attend that one.

I'm SURE it is the original WickerMan, but I would like to make sure.

That is really enlightened programing.

Ghoulish Delight 05-02-2009 05:25 PM

The tweet says "original Wicker Man".

It's a Sunday, but that sounds like worth staying up on a Sunday.

Kevy Baby 05-02-2009 06:45 PM

Interesting. The web site calendar says it starts May 9, but the email I got a couple of weeks ago says May 16.

Also, the first Tweet on 4/28 says the 16th.

wolfy999 05-02-2009 09:06 PM

I really would like to attend at least one screening this year...will be following this thread closely.

alphabassettgrrl 05-02-2009 09:48 PM

Sounds like fun! I'm hoping the date will be clarified.

innerSpaceman 05-02-2009 09:56 PM

I hope I do more than last year.

Had the presence of mind to actually suggest a couple ... if either of them are "chosen," I'll do those for sure.

The rest depends on their schedule and mine, and everyone's. When it comes to cemetery screenings, more is definitely merrier.

For starters, Wicker Man on the Summer Solstice sound kewl.

Cadaverous Pallor 05-03-2009 11:17 AM

Cool Hand Luke!

blueerica 05-03-2009 12:22 PM

Ahh! Maybe I will be able to go.... June 7th. Need to go look up dates...

Not Afraid 05-03-2009 05:39 PM

My dear friend Susan will be in town from Seattle on the 21st and I'm hoping to drag her to the Wicker Man screening.

Kevy Baby 05-04-2009 10:22 AM

Just curious: is it a problem showing naked boobies at the cemetery screenings? I know the original Wicker Man had a fair amount of that (thank you Britt!!!)

Plenty of the films screened have had nude scenes - Clockwork Orange comes to mind as one from last year

Kevy Baby 05-04-2009 06:15 PM

Oh yeah. And I saw that one!

second class citizen 05-04-2009 09:20 PM

Would LOVE to see Kill Bill there! I just adore Luci Liu, Gogo and the Crazy 88's in that!

NirvanaMan 05-04-2009 09:25 PM

I def need to do more than we did last year.

€uroMeinke 05-06-2009 10:42 PM

The first films are posted:

May 16 - Cool Hand Luke

May 23 - To Catch a Thief

May 24 - Dazed & Confused

May 31 - Sleeper

I could do some of these...

Oh, you meant in the movies...

Kevy Baby 05-07-2009 06:17 AM

I wonder if they will update the header to read the current year.

keith - SuPeR K! 05-07-2009 08:14 AM

So excited! I love the cemetery screenings :)

mousepod 05-07-2009 09:06 AM

Still haven't been to one... not super psyched by the line-up, but would go for the company.

innerSpaceman 05-07-2009 09:22 AM

Yeah, the line-up so far is met with a great big "meh" from me.

SCC suggested Kill Bill. That would rock my world.

The two I sent off to Cinespia were The Court Jester and The Magic Christian.

I'm not holding my breath for any of those 3. But it's gonna have to be something better than what's in store for May.

I would love to see The Magic Christian or The Court Jester with a group. They've been strictly video-only for me so far.

The pellet with the poison...

Glynis Johns, Angela Lansbury, Basil Rathbone and Mildred Natwick. It's a terrific and hilarious movie! :snap:

Kevy Baby 05-08-2009 10:35 AM

I wonder if they would go for any Monty Python?

SzczerbiakManiac 05-08-2009 10:39 AM

<watches NA run away screaming>

Kevy Baby 05-08-2009 11:20 AM

Maybe this will be the summer of Mel Brooks comedies...
