Chicago!

I leave tomorrow for a whirlwind 4 day trip to one of my favorite cities! It will be 4 days of pure Chicago pleasure with a generous helping of pug thrown in. (I'm meeting friends from my pug board.) Thurston is sadly not going with me. I didn't want to travel on a plane with him the first time by myself, so he's staying home with Daddy.

I'm so excited!!!

DreadPirateRoberts 06-04-2009 09:40 AM

You are going to visit people you met on the internet? Be careful.

Ghoulish Delight 06-04-2009 09:51 AM

Green with envy.

Oooo, yeah, I would totally never do that!

Will you also meet pugs you met on the internet?

SzczerbiakManiac 06-04-2009 10:04 AM

How fun!
Bring me back some authentic deep-dish pizza please. ;)

Gemini Cricket 06-04-2009 12:47 PM

Before I met Amos, I used to date this well-to-do ugly bootlegger. He used to like to take me out and show me off. Ugly guys like to do that...

Kevy Baby 06-04-2009 01:10 PM

I just find it ironic that you are going to a Pug convention without your beloved Pug!

3894 06-04-2009 01:19 PM

Have a great time! I'm sorry I can't drive in to see you.

Kiss a pug on the thin black lips, will you?

Snowflake 06-04-2009 01:39 PM

Are you sure these internet pugs are okay?

Have a great time! Chicago, Chicago, it's a wonderful town.

Jealous! Though I was just there. Eat some Bongo Room treats for me, please!!

JWBear 06-04-2009 02:23 PM

Whenever I see this thread title, I hear

"Pop"
"Six"
"Squish"
"Uh uh"
"Cicero"
"Lipschitz"

SzczerbiakManiac 06-04-2009 03:14 PM

He had it comin'!

Disneyphile 06-04-2009 03:27 PM

Agh! I hate that song. :p I actually love that show except for that song.

NA, did you bring an empty suitcase to bring back new clothes and toys for Thurston?

When people ask me "Where's Lovey?" I reply, I'm Lovey. When you ask if "I'll be bring home a bitch?" my response is the same - I'm the bitch. ;)

Am I the only one who finds this disturbing on multiple levels?

Disneyphile 06-04-2009 03:49 PM

Check please!

I wouldn't recommend doing that - too dangerous, and you meet all sorts of undesirable characters.

Especially if they are from Australia

I'm his mother AND his lover!!!"

I'm with Kevy - eeewww. ;)

alphabassettgrrl 06-05-2009 09:59 PM

Ah, this thread is one of the many reasons I love the LoT.

Have fun in Chicago, NA! I'm jealous that you get to go play!

Disneyphile 06-05-2009 10:20 PM

I think Thurston needs a talking collar. ;)

I can imagine him saying, "Why yes, I have a large olive. Might you have a large martini in which I may dip it?"

Why am I imagining this dialogue being spoken in Chris' voice? :D

Stay outta my head! That's actually what I thought as soon as I typed it. :D

Ghoulish Delight 06-06-2009 12:10 AM

Actually, I hear quite clearly it in the voice Chris uses when he's putting words in Thurston's mouth. Hell, there's probably a pretty good chance I HAVE heard that, or something very close.

With other words besides "olive" and "martini" huh?

dlrp_bopazot 06-06-2009 01:43 AM

Have fun in Chicago . Say hi to the Hancock Tower for me .

Not Afraid 06-06-2009 06:58 AM

I won a Thurston-sized stuffed pug at a raffle last night. Her name is officially Lovey, so you can all get those awful thoughts out of your head. The only thing wrong with her.......she doesn't snore.

€uroMeinke 06-06-2009 08:53 AM

Perhaps Thurston and I can make ring tones as an arts and craft project for the weekend

Not ... taxidermy? I ask because we have an awful lot of taxidermists next door in Wisconsin.

Listen, Museum of Science and Industry has a Harry Potter exhibit on. Going?

Not Afraid 06-10-2009 09:53 AM

A few choice pics:

It was cold and rainy so what did we do?

The Lurie Garden was in full bloom. Awesome!

Lovey on her way home:

When Thurston saw me at the airport he got super excited then IMMEDIATELY pulled Lovey out of my bag and drug her across the dirty LAX sidewalk. (Blury iPhone pic)

My hotel room was on the top floor of the square building behind the Marina Towers. AWSOME location!

I have TONS of pics of "The Bean".

And, of course, a pug. Gracie is a pupy mill rescue and it very shy but SUPER sweet.

The entire Chicago set is here.
