A & W freebie
 

If any of you are near an A & W they are giving away free root beer floats today from 2-8PM. They also are having 90 cent Papa burgers on Fathers day. Here's a link if you want to see http://www.awrestaurants.com/

I'm sure I'm the only one near a Burgerville but in case anyone else is, they are giving away strawberry shortcake for fathers Day.

Since floats are about all that A&W root beer is good for (don't much care for it straight, too much vanilla) I'd consider this.

But I have already taken a stand against free ice cream and wouldn't want to seem a hypocrite. Since our A&W is just a suboffering in a joint store with a KFC (remodeled into this just a few months ago) I wonder if they'll be participating.


And must you tease me with Burgerville access? I want a turkey burger with Tillamook cheddar and Walla Walla onion rings.

I'll be sure to let you know when it's onion ring season and how wonderful they taste!

Interesting combination.

We have an A and W near us that's with a HS Fish and Chips (or some other fish place, I forget).

I'm not a root beer fan though - but I love the idea of the frosted mugs and root beer "on tap".

A&W reminds me of childhood, so I'd love to stop in for a free RB Float and cheap burger. But I've never seen one in So Cal.


Ah ... and the handy store locator tells me why. There are indeed a handful ... in areas I'd rather not find myself.

From my Mother's random things I've got a complete set of A&W Mugs. I guess I can just frost one up and make my own.

The A&W near me stopped offering frosted mugs. I don't think I've been back since.

I'll have to stop in. I'm just a short hop away from 2 locations.

I hate you just a little bit for this. Does your complete set include the baby ones?

Used to love A & W; they had one near my Dad's house in Brea that was an actual drive in stand-alone. They made really good burgers. Susan and I used to walk down there after slicing one off in the afternoons when we were going to school.

The ones in the mall suck.

No babies - just the Medium and I think a few large.

We stopped at A&W on the way home from Big Bear. I did not get Root Beer. I did get cheese curds and ice cream though. Healthy I am.

That must be the one in Mentone. They make good shakes.

The little town up from us actually still has an A & W where you can order in the car and they still have frosty cold glass mugs of root beer. There's nothing better after a day at the lake!
