Pootrap

What can you say about Pootrap? It does trap poo. It's... it's... um... just not something I ever really considered before.

I wonder how the poor doggy feels about it.

SzczerbiakManiac 08-25-2009 08:43 PM

Yeah, I can't imagine our dog letting us put this on him, let alone "using" it.

flippyshark 08-25-2009 09:04 PM

I can imagine all kinds of ways that this could go horribly wrong. I have a feeling this invention will not catch on.

Ghoulish Delight 08-25-2009 09:21 PM

Horses seem cool with it.

lashbear 08-25-2009 09:49 PM

"Magic Poop Collector" !! I wonder if there's a market for 'Magic Poop' on Ebay? Surely you must be able to sell all that Magic Poop© you've collected ?!?!

I don't call a plastic bag hanging from ones a$$hole "Magic", that's for sure.

...and after the doing's done.... *Magic*!! Pull a string, win a prize. Everyone's a winner here today.

lashbear 08-25-2009 09:53 PM

Also, doesn't PooTrap sound like some sick family boardgame from Hasbro

alphabassettgrrl 08-26-2009 09:33 AM

And it comes in colors!!! :)

Strangler Lewis 08-26-2009 09:47 AM

I thought poot rap was a musical genre.

I forgot about the horse ones.

I wouldn't find this invention as ridiculous if the bags were more discreet and opaque. But, as is, it looks like a horrible joke.

RStar 08-26-2009 12:47 PM

I wonder what a Pooh Trap would look like?

Now you know ;):

Chernabog 08-26-2009 01:50 PM

Sorry but it looks so stupid.. poor doggies.

Cadaverous Pallor 08-26-2009 07:03 PM

I've always thought that the dignity lost when handling a pet's excrement with your hands was non-transferable. This switches the indignity to the perpetrator. Poopetrator?

Yeah, I don't think I could do this to a dog, but I'm not sure I could handle hot dog poop with my hands either. (Baby poop, on the other hand...)

alphabassettgrrl 08-26-2009 07:12 PM

If my dog happens to leave an Oops outside of the yard, I pick it up using a plastic bag. I don't know that that counts as "using my hands" or not, but it's about the same as handling the poo with the trap bag.

I don't think that I could touch it without the bag. At that point, I'm not near a bathroom to wash my hands anytime soon and that would be unpleasant. To say the least.

€uroMeinke 08-26-2009 07:22 PM

So where is the pee trap? Seems you still have to walk the critter

Not necessarily. You could equip your dog with a stadium pal.

David Sedaris gave the definitive take on these in an essay he then read on Letterman. I can only hope he decides to take on the Pootrap.

I know - but it's still hot and gross, even through a plastic bag. Did the pootrap show how to clean it out? (site is down at the moment)

alphabassettgrrl 08-27-2009 10:14 AM

I thought the Pootrap was disposable plastic bags.

I keep replying to this thread in part because it amuses me to see it on the list of "new posts". :)

Honestly? You stick your hand inside a grocery bag, grab the poo and turn the bag inside out and tie it off. Done in mere seconds. And on the bright side, you don't have to wipe your dog's butt.*

(*-not that it hadn't happened on occasion, but as a general rule of thumb, not necessary, as it is when changing a diaper)

You could handle it.

Not Afraid 08-27-2009 12:11 PM

I'm sorry, but picking up dog poop with a poop bag is not a big deal. Just do it, people and stop wasting money on hideous contraptions!

Sing it, sistah!

RStar 08-28-2009 02:39 PM

My dog goes it the back yard. He is very considerate, and only goes in a far corner far from the house, and away from the path. I use a hand spade and small pail. No high tech gaget needed.

I approve, so long as it is a humane poo-trap.

CoasterMatt 08-30-2009 12:14 AM

I could see the poo trap becoming a feedbag for a curious kid.
