"Family Values" State Assemblyman Michael Duvall of OC is a Hypocrite!
Michael Duvall, a California State Assemblyman who represents Orange County claims to be a "Family Values" Republican. But, as is so frequently the case, he does not practice what he preaches. This asshole got caught talking into a hot microphone about affairs (yes, plural) he's having with lobbyists.
Towle Road has details and video of some of the conversation broadcast by KCAL9. So yeah Mike, for God's sake, keep the queers from getting married because that's morally wrong. But cheating on your wife and fücking lobbyists (who, BTW, are also married) is fine and dandy! What a revolting piece of hypocritical shït this guy is! No, I am not surprised by this revelation, but it still makes me sick. |
shock! (not) I think anyone that yells FAMILY VALUES should have a little PI work done on them to see just how well they stack up to what they spew.
|
What a jerk! |
Not shocked by the turn of events.
But I am always amazed to find out there really are stereotypical men who really do discuss their sex lives in graphic detail with people who aren't the person they're having that sex with. I've never run into such a person myself. Maybe my "I don't care" aura blocks them. |
What district is he? Maybe I should run against him
|
District 72, Fullerton, Placentia, Brea
|
Oh well ;)

This revelation makes the following line in an editorial he wrote a little creepy:
"The shameless use of our children as lobbyists, or, worse, as props, is disgraceful." |
The only thing that would have made this more delicious is if it had been a male lobbyist.

He probably objects to children as lobbyists because he's no pedophile. Duh.
|
He has resigned.
Smart guy. Quoted from http://www.duvallforassembly.com/ Quote:
I am deeply saddened one of our elected officials chose to literally get in bed with lobbyists. I have come to the conclusion that every pompous jackass claiming to support "family values" is doing so only to cover his sordid personal life. Therefore, I support your decision to resign and look forward to criminal charges being brought against you. |
Everything sounds better in French.

I know Duvall from Chamber functions and like him but this is just wrong, very disturbing.
But he is taking responsibility for his actions and stepping down. Unlike some others who have been in the similar situations |

I wish I could send him an email
"While you were so busy protecting the sanctity of marriage and "family values" from gay couples you were destroying that same sanctity and your own family". |
Or it could just read: Fvcking Hypocrite.

I'm glad he resigned. I posted in some thread that Sanford should resign, and still wish he would, but thankfully this guy was....honorable, for lack of a better term.....enough to step down.
|
I don't think he should resign. Having an affair is not reason to reason to resign no matter what political positions you've taken. Talking about having an affair just proves he a clumsy ass. Also not reason to quit office.
He should remain where he is so he can be investigated for the ethics violation that is having a sexual relationship with a lobbyist. Then, if it is the appropriate response be kicked out. If he survives that he should serve to the end of of his term and then not run if he considers that the best course. If the people of his district want him out they should take advantage of whatever recall provisions there are for his position. |
I agree that just having an affair (or two) is not a reason to resign. Having an affair with a lobbyist is an entirely different situation.
From what I saw some senate leader say on TV yesterday, his resignation does not remove him from being investigated for ethics violations and they are still looking into exactly what he did. |
I haven't watched the follow up but I saw something yesterday that the lobbyist in question denies having sex with him.
It would be interesting if he was just making up stories in some weird one-upsmanship with whomever he was talking (actually that raises another question, in the video I saw the person he was talking to was blurred out. This was a person on camera at an official government function. Why was he blurred out?). |
If he declares the gift on the appropriate spot on the form, is there even a problem?
|
What a conundrum. She'd have to declare a cash value for the sex.
Oh the conflicting inclinations that would go into that valuation. |
This could open up a whole new business opportunity. Something along the lines Kelley Blue Book. A lot of similaries, really....mileage, damage, trunk space, how many owners, etc, would all come into play.
