Flashback!

My scanning project is so much fun. I was just working on a box of stuff from my freshman year of high school (those essays are so cringeworthy!) and jumped to a box from 2003-2004. It's amazing how long ago that is now.

Most of what I keep is honestly crap...but once in a while there's a fun gem to share.

Teacups and swankers in the news.

We are such awesomeness. :D

Gemini Cricket 09-14-2009 10:05 PM

Coolest article ever. I forgot that Isaac and Chris got their quotes in big font. Awesomeness.
:)

BarTopDancer 09-14-2009 10:06 PM

Awesome find!

Not Afraid 09-14-2009 10:11 PM

The best part was Chris going into the office the next day and his boss addressing him as Master Teacup Spinner.

€uroMeinke 09-14-2009 10:15 PM

You know - I never saw the print version of that. So when Lisa showed me the quote I thought it was a photoshop job. Now I'm just giggling to myself again.

Bornieo: Fully Loaded 09-14-2009 10:24 PM

Wow - totally forgot about that article, though I remember that night marching over to City Hall.

Gemini Cricket 09-14-2009 10:25 PM

I remember almost breaking my wrists with iSm and Isaac when we piled into a teacup trying to make it turn. Good times.
:D

BarTopDancer 09-14-2009 10:26 PM

I wonder whatever happened to my "better than botox" video.

Moonliner 09-14-2009 10:27 PM

Awesome! I never saw the print version either.

However I do still have the initial response from the Times reporter after I emailed them about this travesty:

We received your e-mail about the teacups at Disneyland. Do you have a number where we can reach you? We just want to interview some fans. I'm also reachable at (714) 966-5890.

Thanks,

I glad some of you were able to help her. She was somewhat annoyed to find out I lived 2,000 miles away and had not been to the park in ages... :D

LSPoorEeyorick 09-15-2009 06:20 AM

I met all of you people that night. Or, well, most.

flippyshark 09-15-2009 06:28 AM

So, did they ever fix the teacups?

Cadaverous Pallor 09-15-2009 07:55 AM

No one ever rode them again. ;)

Betty 09-15-2009 09:03 AM

Master Spinner.... ha ha ha ha. I enjoyed reading that immensely. You guys are totally celeb's now. ;)

Didn't they take them out and set up a Princess tea party experience?

Gemini Cricket 09-15-2009 12:11 PM

If it happened today the headline would read:

Lounge of Tomorrow Teabags Tea Cups

:D

Betty 09-15-2009 12:52 PM

What's with the teabag thing lately? Did I miss a memo?

Now? Try 5 years ago.

Not Afraid 09-15-2009 07:16 PM

My own celeb status came later.

€uroMeinke 09-15-2009 09:05 PM

It was my come back after the gold pants incident - or maybe that was my comeback...

Cadaverous Pallor 09-15-2009 10:35 PM

I have withdrawn from the spotlight, though my adoring public always craves more.

My only solace is in my Palm Springs retreat, far from the glare of Anaheim.

Don't the constant string of hang gliders flying by ever bother you?

Only when they don't focus the camera properly

They are fun to hit golf balls at.
