Pneumatic Lung: a collection of haiku
 

oh pneumatic lung
racking my body with hacking
collapse into coughs

hacking spewing cough
don't look at me please, i'm gross
will it ever end?

walking pneumonia
isn't so bad. turns me to
quivering jello

well meaning fam'ly
says go to doctor right now please
hell no we won't go

yeah vitamin c
puts life in me - lets me last
'nother day alive

two babes sap my strength
when oh when will i get well?
it's been six weeks now

I'm really not too sick
just run down and quite whiny
vent here saves Michael

self restoration
fluid leaves lungs as I heal
mind wraps lungs in health

praise the heavens, lo
for it is haiku haven
here in our new home
