Disney’s prize icon has a Tim Burton sensibility in this “Mickey Mouse meets Jack Skellington” figure from Japanese toy company Medicom. Release date is reportedly April 2010 (we believe for Japan).

I find it pretty cute, mostly because Jack is just such a nice guy. some of the "vinyl animation" Mickey's seem much stranger and creepier to me. My brother has one that looks like a teddy bear, but it has two faces, one on the back of its head, which rolls back to expose a set of sharp, vicious fangs. Unsettling.

Second that. Some of the other Mickey figures are way creepier. Yet, the stitched mouth on this one goes a long way to thrilling me with it's Non-Mickey-ness.

I'm a fan of the entire genre. It's nice to see them exploring a range of creative avenues.

I love this. I want it. It's not as cool as the Runaway Brain Mickeys (since they're based on an actual Mickey cartoon), but it's pretty darn cool.

So, GD, just WHAT is that thing in your avatar? It kind of looks like a vinyl thingie. I would look it up, but, um ... how do you look up a visual?

Sorry for the off-topiciness.

I've run out of stupid quotes from the show to answer that question with (okay, not really, but I don't feel like looking more up right now), so I'll just actually answer. Xavier: Renegade Angel

Ah. Having seen the wildly divided nature of the imdb reactions, I will have to check this out.

Oh, and back to the vinyl Mickey stuff.

innerSpaceman 10-28-2009 04:30 PM

Mickey who?

RStar 10-28-2009 07:00 PM

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I have no intrest in buying that fig, and Mickey is my fave, and Jack is a close second. So, I guess I may vote in the gone too far area.
