Disney's New Cruise Ship - The Dream

If this alone doesn't entice people to go, I don't know what will:

Aquaduck

I'm still perusing the other stuff. :D

And, here are their standard inside staterooms, which are far superior to the same category on any other line, especially with the virtual porthole feature. :)

OMG, you're right. I'm duly enticed.

Oh wow. I once had an inside closet cabin and swore never again, but that one looks plenty fab. Maybe someday.

This ship won't be going to Alaska - it's the new one for Florida, at least for now. There is also another one of these new ones being constructed for 2012. Not sure where they will send that one yet.

However, the Wonder (the ship that we get here that will be going to Alaska) was just outfitted with an additional enclosed cafe on the top deck, and has all the same amenities as the new ship, except for the "virtual portholes" and the water coaster, besides the variations in restaurants and bars.

I'm waiting for the water coaster. I don't care if it's not built till 2016 - - -that's when I'll be able to afford a cruise. ;)

The Dream sets sail on January 26th, 2011. The Fantasy will be sometime in 2012.

In my experience, on a cruise, the level of amenities inside my cabin is absolutely irrelevant. I wake up, get dressed, and get out of my room before I'm even awake enough to care if there's a porthole or not, returning only to either change for dinner or go to sleep. Once my eyes are closed, every room looks the same to me. So the only thing I care about is location (not next to the engine room or an elevator, not in some inconvenient corner of the ship).

But then, that's no different for me than any vacation. As long as it exceeds minimum sanitary standards, I'm not remotely picky about my hotel room because that's not what I'm on vacation for. So ymmv.

innerSpaceman 10-29-2009 03:11 PM

I'm a little bit different.

So, speaking of differences, what's generally the difference between an inside Stateroom with a Virtual Porthole, and an outside Stateroom with a touch of oceanside veranda??

I'm not known to skimp ... which is why i won't be able to afford a cruise until 2016.
