Highly recommended. We'll be busy this year, but everyone else should go.

While buying tix to their other gig, I figure I'd go ahead and get a pair of presale tix to this as well, especially since last year was so much fun.

To create the fifth annual Lucent L'amour, The Do LaB is bringing you two stages of music and performance, an awe-inspiring art gallery, live painters, larger-than-life interactive sculptures, and elaborate stage and environment designs from the west coasts leading artists.
It's all too much to cover in just 1 email so this one is all about the art!

Art Gallery

This years art gallery by curators Mike Russek and Deborah Vogt will be even larger than in previous years, with more live art in the mix. Dozens of artists that you know and love, as well as some you haven’t discovered yet, will be showcasing their awe-inspiring work.

The art gallery will also feature a very special live mural by The Mac and Retna, as well as a live painting collaboration between some of LA’s favorites: John Park, Ekundyo, Motion One, Hans Haveron, Michael Pukac

Check out our online Art Gallery for more pics and bios: http://lucentlamour.com/art-gallery/

Lightning in a Paintcan

For the 3rd year in a row The Do LaB, along with Sonic Muze and participating artists, have been raising thousands of dollars that go directly towards purchasing art and music supplies for under-funded schools.

Here’s how it works: Scattered throughout Lucent L’amour will be 20 live painters creating with 100% recycled paint and materials. During the event we will hold a silent auction where you can bid on your favorite art piece, and hopefully take it home with you.

Check out our L.I.P. page for more info:

Installations

Installation art has been popping up at events and festivals for many years and there will be no shortage at Lucent L’amour. These installations range from smaller interactive pieces to larger than life sculptures and jaw dropping creations that challenge architectural norms.

We'll be in the shop non-stop for the next few weeks creating more of our own art pieces and stage designs ensuring the event is covered in Do LaB awesome sauce.

See a full list of participating artists and pics on the site:

Great event - makes me realize that the main reason I love Coachella is because these guys, Everyone looked beautiful, new show from Lucent Dossier, fun stuff from Yard Dog road show, our favorite dancer on the fire stage, and a bunch of cool art installations. I took hundreds of pictures, hopefully some of them are good

In case you don't get around to Facebook, here are few favorite pics of the night.

This year's event was at the Shrine - so a perfect place to build a Shrine:

Here's a view of the Shrine from above - of course it was a Valentines celebration:

Outside featured more fun and art including a giant refrigerator poetry wall:

A portrait wall of the members of Lucent Dossier:

A "Fire" stage separate from the outdoor stage featuring some great fire dancers:

But of course the best reason for all this, Lucent Dossier featuring our Favorite Ringmaster:

Arealists:

A bearded Lady:

Lions:

And Space Invaders:

Though some were a bit squeamish about the anal probe:

It was a captivating show

We of course had a great time

You know, I've been reading the thread, getting the emails, checking out the construction photos on Facebook...and it wasn't until I saw your pictures that it dawned on me that it was at The Shrine as in....The Shrine. Duh. I just assumed it was some venue of their own that they named after Shrine.

Glad you enjoyed yourselves.

I'm so glad you guys got to go. I got a text message during the night, "Wish you were here to take photos" from one of the pros shooting the event- maybe someday the stars will align again :(
