Great Band or Greatest Band?

I saw Anvil! The Story of Anvil last night. If you haven't yet seen the film, it is the documentary of the little 80's speed metal band that would not quit. It is so brilliantly funny at times, that I had to question whether I was being duped. It out-Spinal-Taps Spinal Tap by being not only incredibly funny but a source of inspiration for anybody who has ever tried and failed to have a career in the arts. In the end Anvil is a story about art for arts sake and the risk one takes when you follow your dreams at all costs.
Like American Movie before it, these middle age guys chug ahead and defy all odds. They're like the Ed Wood of bands, and I mean that as a great compliment. Their tenacious, never say die spirit in the face of canceled gigs, empty halls, crooked club owners, and brutal disrespect from their contemporaries, recalls the great Ed Wood's battle for dignity. And though I detest speed metal, I am going to make every effort to see them at the Fillmore in Feburary. Just to pay my respects.*

Tref sez, check it out.
