A Very Special Magical Christmas Experience Parade!

During this special time of the year, I love to sit next to the fire and reminisce about holidays of old. One very magical and memorable time was when I spent a day at Disneyland right around Christmas time. The highlight of the day was taking my niece, Alopecia, to see the Disneyland’s “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade.

After I downed several drinks at DCA’s Cove Bar, me and Alopecia crossed the Esplanade and looked for a spot on Matterhorn Way to watch the Christmas Parade. What good luck it was to have “Alie” there to carry all my bags chocked full of Christmas goodies. She’s really strong. Nine bags!

What's this? Something’s on the horizon. Yes, there it is, Alopecia! Disneyland’s “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade.

A ballerina on a stick and her large fuzzy companion bids us welcome to their Christmas shenanigans.

Big large teddy bear companion says ‘Hello, kids. Lookit me I’m a big large teddy bear.’

Ballerina on a stick. Don't sit down too fast, Sister!

Next came the toy soldier marching band.

Trumpet doings.

Hi, toy soldier dude! Hmm. I smell sweat…

We bid the toy soldiers a fond farewell.

Next came the elves. Alopecia was beside herself.

A pair of big ducks. You know, Daffy and the other one.

More teddy bearage.

Santa’s wife says ‘Happy Holidays, bitches.’

Such a nice lady.

Here comes the next float! Alopecia went to get us coffee. She’s so independent at four years of age.

Enchanted snow mice things.

Yay! Here are the snowflake chicks!

The children can’t contain their joy. It’s a Christmas miracle!

Here’s the rub. Roller skates! Easy there, sister, don’t fall or you’ll crack your flakes!

The next float is on its way. Christmas tree fantasy.

The snow kids join the festivities.

This one didn’t have a face. I think it melted and fell off.

A snow person says, ‘Hello, I’m a snow person’ to a little cherub of an onlooker.

Well if it isn’t the big cheese himself: Mickey! Where is that girl with my coffee?

Skate, Rat! Skate!

Clarabelle the Moose (cow?) is taken hostage by the brethren of Gingerbread.

Clarabelle: “Unhand me, yeasty bastards!”

What the f*ck?

Mom says, ‘I wish I was in this parade.’ Hang on there, sister. You’ll get your chance someday. Everyone deserves to be in a parade.

Gingerbutt

Could it be Goofy? It sure as sugar is.

Son Max brought the Nilla Wafers. Coffee’s cold, Alie! Take it back, try again.

Drag is all the rage at the Tremaine household.

Legs in the air for Christmas!

A very special holiday message for all the boys and girls.

Aurora and Phillip join in on the revelry.

Isn’t she lovely?

It’s okay to be light in your loafers at Christmas time!

Look, children! Cinderella!

“Good lighting is essenial.” Says this Belle of the ball.

Say, who’s driving this thing? Don’t get any ideas, Sally! You’re too young to drive.

Chip and his big nut sack.

No one can ever accuse Woody of being off his rocker. Rock on, cowboy!

Here comes Santa’s sweatshop!

“Cheap labor is the name of the game.” Says Gepetto.

Back to work, Elf. Christmas is coming!

Don’t fire me, Santa!

No strings here.

Buzz Lightyear says, ‘Christmas is out of this world!’

No Christmas would be complete without carolers! Alopecia’s back with my coffee. Mmmm, caffeine! I assured her that she missed nothing and would gladly show her the pictures I took while she was away.

The reindeer are here! They begin some sort of festive holiday dance.

“I know that dance. Let me have a try.” Says Sally.

The man of the hour, old Kris Kringle himself. Yes, Alopecia, there is a Santa Claus!

“Ho, ho, ho! Have you been good, my little buttcracks?” Asks Santa.

Well that’s the end.

Christmas is always a special time of year. Time for fun and festive shenaniganery. Alopecia and I say “Happy Holidays to the Lounge of Tomorrow!” May this trip report bring a smile to your face.

Cheers, GC.

You sure it wasn't Alopecia taking the photos? ;)

Wonderful. Heartwarming. Alopecia is certainly growing up.

I'm glad you finally got some drinkable coffee. Kids can be so careless sometimes.

Not Afraid 12-21-2009 02:57 PM

Brad, I suggest you have a few more drink the next time you decide to pull a Darkbeer on us.

Hee hee.

There's a special connection between this thread and the Christmas cards that I sent out this year to my fellow LoTters.

They'll know what it is.

:)
