Random idea: Prop 8 re-enactment filming

This would require several LoTers and a reasonable transcript to pull off, but no reason we couldn't do it. Would anybody be interested in getting together and recording re-enactments of the Prop 8 trial for YouTube?

I'd love to get this going pretty quick here, possibly start filming as soon as I get back from NoCal (yeah, I'm going north next week, sadly, a court visit is not currently on my itinerary).

We'd need someone to track down a reasonable transcript (I think some of the livebloggers have tried to take down actual dialogue as well as they could), and edit it down to something reasonably filmable. Is anyone interested in taking on the role of "screenwriter" on this? For now we can start with the first week's stuff, so you'd have next week to tighten up the script.

We'd also need a couple committed folks willing to perform the roles of attorneys and of the judge - these folks would have to film more pieces than those of us willing to play the roles of witnesses.

Also, obviously we'd need people to play witnesses.

I'm sure we could pull some OCEC folks if we ran out of actors.

This is one of those awesome ideas that, if I wasn't slave labor at a law firm, I wish I had the time to do lol..... (seriously, my first day off of work this year will be January 23). I would also think of shooting emails off to the livebloggers themselves seeing if anyone is either interested in participating or has perhaps appropached them looking to attempt a similar thing...

Sorry Cindy. Someone is already doing it.

What can I say? Great minds think alike? Here's another article (which is linked to from the Towleroad blog above)

Funny enough I know the husband of the guy who is producing it. He's an attorney for the screen actor's guild and a very active member of the lesbian/gay lawyer's association of LA.
