Broadbank Jack for TV/Blu-ray?
Okay, this is the cheapo blu-ray player I have.
If I connect an ethernet cable to this player, I can stream Netflix. My problem is this, the modem and router are in another part of the house (my bedroom) where they will stay. Is there something else I can set up closer to the tube to plug into to get the internet capabilities to stream Netflix? I'm sorry, I know, I'm totally dense. Of course, if I did not just have to shell out loads of dough to the IRS (and continue on a monthly basis for some time) I'd just buy the next one up which is $200 and wireless. But, that's not an option for me right now. No mad money. <teeny voice> Help! O wise internet gurus of LoT<teeny voice>[/size] |
Is it a wireless router? If so, what you need is something usually referred to as a "game adapter". I've had success in the past with a brand called "Zoom Gamepoint" but not sure if it's still being made.

The Zoom Gamepoint appears to not be available. Thanks. Maybe I will just bite the bullet and save myself the headache and buy a blu-ray with wireless capabilities. |
Not saying that you should do this... but we have a 2nd wireless router that we use to extend the range of our network - it has an ethernet jack. It works fine with my cheapo blu-ray player.
