The Outlander Book Series by Diana Gabaldon

I've now read the first 4 books in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

My Mom passed them along to me and eventually I picked up the first one. I found it a little hard to get into but I liked the basic story line enough to keep going.

The basic idea of the book is that
Spoiler:
A woman from the 1950's or so goes through an old stone circle in Scotland and time travels 200 years into the past, has a romance and has various adventures.

It's sort of a historical romance and sort of not. There's a bit of Scottish and American history twisted into it and some interesting time travel.

By the second book, I was enjoying the series more and when I was done, I went immediatly into reading the 3rd and then 4th book which I thought was the last in the series when I was reading it.

I went online to find out what else she has written and discovered there are several more books in the series. Yay! I'll be picking them up for an upcoming camping trip when I should get in some good reading time. :)

The books are detailed and long enough to keep me reading them for awhile - which is nice because I tend to go through books pretty quickly.

Anyone else read this series?
