The barn where it all began
In Garden Grove the Stanly Ranch has the barn where Walt worked on his ideas as a young man, saved from destruction by Bobbie Sherman (who is a cop now) of all people . . . apparently DL did not want it, they did come measure it to recreate though . . . guess the real thing is too, real

Awesome photos!

That's right near my work.

If Disney World gets to keep Walt's Office, Disneyland should get The Barn!
|
It's actually Uncle Robert's garage, saved from the property on Kingswell Street, about two blocks down from where the "original" (except for the garage, heheh) studio was. Love that you got to go there, I've never made it over there!

To make sure I am interpreting this correctly (because I didn't see where it was clarified on the site): the site was originally in Burbank, but moved to Garden Grove, presumably in (or around) 1984?

Yes.

Yes officer Bobbie thought it should be saved but the Disney Corp was not interested, so he and others raised the funds and found a historical group (the one in Garden Grove) and so there is stands - so said one of the historical society members, and she was not a woman to be gainsay-ed

I go there regularly for their "barn" sale, which is twice a year. No they're not trying to sell Walt's Barn, but to raise money for all the buildings they have preserved on site. They have a tour which is quite interesting also.

Great pics!
