The Grub
#10 pastrami on rye with swiss and russian dressing. Order of cole slaw on the side and ordered extra pickle spears.

Companion 1 had a #19
Companion 2 had a #8

The Scene
It's a venerable spot with free parking across the street. The neighborhood is not the best, but since they close at 4, you won't be there after dark. Did not bother me at all.

They do not lie when they say they have the best pastrami. My sandwich was huge (made for 2 meals) and was the most delicious pastrami I've ever had. Better than any I got at Katz's in NY (seriously) and 100% better than Canter's.

I'm still thinking about this sandwich.....do not resist, just go. :snap:

Their full amazing menu can be seen here.

Hungry for good deli, go here. The famed #19 did look absolutely delicious. Mine was nirvana on a plate.

Add some sauerkraut to that #10 and you have yourself a deal.

I've taken both of my parents here for the pastrami. They're both NY Deli aficionados. So good.

Ok, I'm a jew. Don't report me, but I don't like pastrami.

How's the corned beef? That's the mark of a deli for me, and anyplace with delicious (lean) corned beef will rate at least one visit from me.

OMG I totally keep forgetting about this section.

I need to start rating places that I go... Ooh!

My mother was not born Jewish. Somehow, I got it into my head as a child that she had converted. When I mentioned this as an adult, she was shocked and assumed it was just some lie my father had told me to shut me up when I asked questions after starting Hebrew School. How could I ever have thought she was Jewish?

I don't know, Mom. Maybe it's the way you b*tch at the waitresses about the leanness of the corned beef.
