What's your smart-phone hand?
Today as I was distracting myself from work and checking my iphone for the usual social media aps I noticed that I seem to use my left hand and thumb a lot when using my phone despite being right-handed. I suspect it's because I'm use to having my right hand free to take notes when I'm on the phone, but it makes me wonder if other people are smart-phone ambidextrous.

I am strongly right handed and a faster texter with my right hand but I can navigate my phone with both I can also write with my left though I wouldn't say I'm ambidextrous.

I'm right handed, but I tend to use my left a lot for scrolling etc. It just seems to work better for some reason.

If I'm operating it one handed, it's with my fight (I'm a lefty). If I'm using 2 hands, I hold it in my right and use my left for touch-screening. I think the right handed thing mostly comes from the fact that the button that wakes the phone up from sleep mode is most easily pressed with my right.

Depends on what I'm doing. Texting: I like to use both hands. Dialing: can go either way. Searching my address book: usually left. Answering: usually right. I think.
I don't have a strong preference; depends on what I'm doing with the phone, and what else I'm doing. |
I'm a righty and I heavily rely on my right hand on the phone, but I'm also a very slow phone user. I have a feeling that if I used the phone more and got faster I'd be more ambidextrous at it.

I'm strongly left handed (I can't even use a fork with my right hand) but when it comes to computer peripherals I'm fully ambidextrous, amazing friends and enemies alike with my ability to use a computer mouse from either side of the keyboard.
I've never noticed any particular handedness when using my phone for things other than a phone call but when I am using it for a call the phone is almost always to my left ear (meaning I couldn't write). But my headset for my phone at work is set up for right ear use. |
Good point, I also use my left hand for actual calls almost exclusively.

Mostly right hand and almost exclusively left ear - especially with blue tooth.

His name was (and presumably still is) Arthur Charles Walter Bethel. On the blackboard, we would write "Arthur Charles" with his left hand and "Walter Bethel" with his right (at the same time). When complete, the two names would line up and were mostly similar in looks (though you could see some differences). He was a quirky guy, but I liked him. |
I'm right handed and use my right hand to do things on my iPhone.
On a similar note, I can't text using two hands. I don't know how people do it. |
