This dog needs a home.....

"Puppy" was found wandering the neighborhood. He had been dumped and was out and about for a while before I coaxed him into my car. He's been staying with my friend Amy while we look for a home for him, but haven't found any takers. We just got a voucher to have him snipped shipped but he need to go to a home - and one without cats (or cats that don't mind being chased).

He's a youngster - 9 months maybe - and a terrier mix. Not as small as the pugs but not a big dog. He weighs about 25 pounds.

He's a sweetie and will be a great dog with some direction. He is a bit scared at first. I suspect he wasn't treated well, but he warms up pretty quickly.

If you know anyone who would be interested, let me know.

Just curious, how do you know he's dumped rather than lost?

I'd take him in a second if we could.

He was wandering the neighborhood, without a collar and not chipped, for a week. We put up notices, Craigs list, etc with no takers. We also kept our eye out for any signs of a lost dog. I know he was dumped because, sadly, it happens all of the time in certain neighborhoods - those with a large park or near the river. It's just so much better to just leave your dog then to call a rescue.

I have a client that adopted a lab. The lab was dumped on PCH near an open area. Someone connected with rescue witnessed the dumping. The lab, after being push unceremoniously out of the car, ran after the car for about a mile before collapsing. The rescue person got the dog and rushed him to the vet. His paw pads were completely torn up from running on asphalt, chasing after his people.

Again, so many humans have no concept of being humane. Revolting.

Poor puppies how I wish I could take one or more. :(

Oh my god, poor puppy, that's so sad!
