LoT Facebook group

So I created a Lounge of Tomorrow Facebook group and added a bunch of you, but in case I missed someone, let me know and I'll add you if you're interested - or if you're not on Facebook if you think we should add your mother.

It looks like you missed a lot (LoT... Hehe) of us.

Faceboook Groups - the world's latest in snubbing technology.

They should have called it "Cliques". Then I might have been interested in it.

innerSpaceman 10-16-2010 03:08 PM

Yep, all I thought was cliques are us. Perfect way to rid facebook of all the benefit I get out of it. (Which is stuff, ideas, links, photos, and news shared by the widest variety of people).

That said, I think a LoT group is a really good idea. Can I join?

Heh - I'm waiting to see if this is the LoT killer

Yeah, not sure Facebook has the best interface for adding folks, as I seem to have already added many who are requesting to be added - maybe using old email addresses or just some odd lag-time going on. In any event I suspect before long everyone except Parmesan Jim will be there soon.

Ghoulish Delight 10-16-2010 03:28 PM

And Kevy.

I need to check the settings, can I opt out of being emailed when someone posts to a group. If not, and it gets active, I imagine I will be removing myself from any groups.

In your account setting under notifications you can select when or when you don't want Facebook to email you

Am I understanding things that my membership in this group is publicly available information? Is it possible for someone searching for me to learn that (that it not by searching for Lounge of Tomorrow but by searching for me)?

€uroMeinke 10-16-2010 04:41 PM

Currently the membership is public but you bring up a good point in that here while membership is "public" in some sense there is the veil of the screen name - I shall make it a secret society and hide the membership - much more fun and cliquish that way
