Gogol Bordello ... at The FORUM???
Apparently G.B. will be playing at the Inglewood Forum on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, March 12, at 10 a.m.
Um, this is quite different from their usual venue. I'm not even sure I'm interested in seeing them in a stadium setting ... but it's just so odd, I have to admit being intrigued. |
Well, they are touring with System of a Down. SOAD is probably the headliner.
|
The Forum is one of my least favorite places to see music anywhere on the planet.
|
Agreed. Not the least bit interested in attending. Bah.
I think they should play at Cone-Meinke Cat Cingdom though. And soon. |
I don't 'do' stadiums, if I can't get a little sweat dripped on me from a performer, what is the point?
|
Well, in all fairness, sometimes that's your only choice. My ex LOVED Madonna, and we went and saw her twice, at the Forum* no less. Lots of dancing both time. I may not love her music, but she can put on a show. And Forum or not, 87% gay audience means DANCING.
* I hate the Forum as a venue, but it IS 10 minutes from where I live. So there's that. I've seen plenty of uber-famous acts and artists at stadiums, if that's the only venue opportunity. And if you don't catch someone on the way up who eventually gets that popular, then it's that or nuthin'. |
I've seen my share of acts in large places (Coachella is fantastic and about as large as it gets). For some bands and in certain venues, it works. I've never had anyone work for me at The Forum except maybe Ultravox. Not even David Bowie could make me happy at the Forum.
|
I saw Neil Diamond and Garth Brooks at the Forum. That's how I roll.
