Disney Music

What are the recordings to buy when you want the music from the Disneyland park? I am so confused looking at CD's I read reviews and find most things are not the originals but a studio version or something . . .
Thank you collective brain
;)

Disney park music, and Disney music in general is something of a speciality of mine. I'm intrigued by it, because it's so unnerving. There are dozens of different edits released over the years of the same titles. Some contain this, some contain that. Some of the stuff was really used at the Parks, some of it just from studio recordings never used in attractions. All edited in different ways. It's a crazy quilt.

If you want the ultimate in Disneyland music, though, that painstakingly puts together and re-edits dozens of different releases for the absolute Best-Of stuff, I'd recommend the Disneyland 50 set of 4 CDs (as revised for the famous "second fiftieth i.e., 51.") It's available only from ... oh, looka that ... only from yours truly. Hmmm.

There's always the "official parks album" they redo every few years. Tends to be heavily weighted toward new stuff or whatever they're trying to shove down our throats that year though.

This set is pretty good too.

And then there's this.

The DJ at Disneyphile and Frodo Potter played a pretty good selection.

Haha, I guess you should go with Morrigoon's suggestion ... since Kevy and I are just touting ourselves! ;)

I'm touting you - it was your selections that I was playing :)

Cynthia, just get a copy of iSm's 4 disc set and look no further.

Morrigoon 03-23-2011 12:27 AM

Probably a better call than the one I linked... which seems to be ghastly expensive
