Facebook Secret Groups
 

I've done a bunch of searches and I can't seem to find an answer. Is there any way to block a secret facebook group from your newsfeed?

I'm a member of a secret group that I don't want to unjoin. But there are days that there are 100+ postings to it and it's making me nutty wading through them all to get to my regular posts.

I seem to be able to block individuals, and regular groups but I can't find any way to block the secret group.

Anyone have any ideas?

Go to the group page, there's a "settings" button top right. In settings there's a "Show this group in home navigation" dropdown. Selecting "Never" should do the trick.

ETA: Hmm, that may just control whether it shows up in the list of groups on the left. Instead, try the "Notify Me" setting and change it to "Only when I'm subscribed" or whatever it is. That might work.

I tried both of those - which seems like it would work. But it doesn't.

I just had an ah ha moment. I'm not seeing the groups feed I'm seeing what my friends are posting to the feed. So the only way to not see it is to block the friends from my feed. Barnacles.
