Trip Report: Iowa City, Iowa
j/k. I wouldn't subject you.
Just know we awoke to the sound of many robins singing. You know why they were singing? Worms. Thousands of worms, worms, worms on the sidewalks. A worm obstacle course. Then, later that day, crispy worm bodies. Thousands of crispy worm bodies. |
Lol! Worm carcasses and happy birdies!
|
We ran through that yesterday. It was kind of gross. The thought that went through my head was, "thank God I'm not a Buddhist because I am probably killing a lot of worms right now."

It makes me think of a slip and slide.
|
That would have been my worst childhood nightmare coming true!
And here I was expecting to hear about the weather in Iowa..... |
During this winter's wet weather, we were "fortunate" enough to never have a problem with ants in the house. I say "fortunate" because instead we got worms. WORMS!
I'll take ants. |
Not too many worms here in Salt Lake... yet.

OMG OMG OMG I would die. True worm story: Spoiler:
You're welcome. :) |
"There were worms
On the hills But I never heard them squishing . . ." Iowa, get it? There are blocks on my morning dog walk that are a long hopscotch course between the worm bodies and goose splatterings from the flyovers. Could be some egret and heron poop mixed in. Mostly goose. My labrador used to have a fondness for snails. For some reason, he gave them up. |
