Alaska

I was on the Disney Wonder for its inaugural cruise in Alaska earlier this month, and I'm still working on sorting through the many photos of mountains, snow and ice. However, I did edit together a video I shot with my new Kodak Easy Sport digicam. Here's a link. It's my first time using iMovie. :)

Anyone else been to Alaska? It was amazingly beautiful.

We've been, it's truly a stunning place. We spent all our time in and around (~2 hour radius) Anchorage, and even that tiny little sliver of the state was something to behold.

Loved the video. We considered doing a train tour but didn't manage to fit it into our trip. Definitely looks like something to keep on the list if we visit again!

Great video. I've forwarded it along to my traveling companions. We're on the Disney cruise June 21st. We're doing the train, a float plane (but not the fjords), and I'm going to the glacier so it was great to get a glimpse at some of what we'll be doing. Maddie's doing the glacier helicopter hike which should be amazing (it's a teen only excursion).

I went to Anchorage on a random 3 day trip about 11 years ago and I've been wanting to go back. It is amazing.

I like the way the video starts out looking almost completely monochrome, then little bits of color, especially green, sneak in little by little.

Did you select the Michael Nyman music because that was what you were hearing in your head as you saw these views?

We did a cruise to Alaska several years ago, and it was way better than the one we did in Hawaii. Even though we live in the PNW and much of our area looks like Alaska, it was a lot of fun and very, very beautiful. I am going to do the Disney Alaskan cruise one of these days! :)

Thanks, flippyshark! I love the soundtrack for The Piano. I think the tracks make for great traveling music.
