My Bon Jovi Houston Review
Ok bare with me I've had a few hours sleep at most. I'm still in Houston heading back to Dallas today. Anyways last night I went to see Bon Jovi In Houston. This is my last show for this tour. I ad 4th row PIT seats pretty close to the center aisle. Of course Richie Sambora was not there due to being in rehab. So anyways I was an emotional mess up until actually sitting in my seat thus the excitement built. I was the closest to that white mic stand than I've ever been other than when I had in front of the circle ramp when Jon comes out.
I made Jon a sign JBJ <3 ALWAYS to show my support without Richie there. Well couple songs in I hold it up and manage to get Jon's attention. Song #3 I get a couple words sung to. I think Dave must recognize me by now because he was all smiles and eye contact most of the night. It seemed Jon would look my way every now and then. I even CAUGHT Jon yes I did watching me out of the corner of his eye when he was at the mic stand. A bit nerve rattling to say the least. Most touching moment came when Jon was on the circle ramp during I'll Be There For You. Without Richie he added in some really emotional lyrics letting go of the pain and sadness of not having him up there harmonizing with this song. Really heartbreaking for me to hear the added words BUT I gelding up my JBJ <3 ALWAYS sign as he turned to the fans in the PIT. He stopped looked at it, made eye contact and smiled at me. He knew I cared and was there to support him. I think he was actually touched. |
Part 2 so during Who Says You Can't Go Home Matt came up with a saying for a sign. Of course I hold it up getting Jon's attention and he looks at me, smiles and makes a funny face. I hold it up for most of the song getting more smiles and eye contact from him.
We managed to get In These Arms no thanks to my hard work starting and keeping up the song request thread on the fan club board. When I heard the first few notes I nearly died. I was lucky enough to have some lyrics sung to me during the song. :) even more special Before Wanted Dead or Alive Jon mentioned without Rchie they are one man short so we had to fill in and sing his parts. Jons expression on his face at one point in the song it was clear he MISSED Richie. He didn't hide his emotions. This really hit home watching him like that especially during this song, Living On A Prayer was the final song and like that the show was over BUT I walked away with memories to hold me over until the next tour. |
It sounds like you had a great time! Have a safe trip home.

Ty wish I had more shows to go to. Jon gave us his all and left everything on that stage. By the time the final bow happened he was very spent but without Richie there he was trying to make sure all the fans left happy. I managed to take 380 pictures the least amount I've taken BUT I wanted to savor the show and would watch Jon alot.

Thanks for the report MMG. I only got to see them once live but it was great.

YW katiesue. Even without Richie Jon was over compensating and I think that is why I LOVED this show even more. He gave EVERYTHING to us leaving it all on that stage. Only break he got was a minute and a half to go from backside of the stage to the circle ramp and a few minutes before the encore.
I know he felt the love and support and strength from the audience lifting him up and carrying him thru the show without Richie. It was apparent how much he was missed. I watched I'll Be Tgere For You someone behind me filmed and the extra lyrics Jon added in are so heartbreaking. It was evident he is missing Richie but understandable. Today is traveling home day which sucks Bon Jovi withdrawals suck |
