Lord Of The Rings Marathon
Headliner has a hoard of friends coming over this weekend for a Lord Of The Rings marathon, all three extended editions. Combined they run for something like 11 hours so I'm guessing I'm going to need to feed them at some point.
Any suggestions on a LoTR themed meal that's teen friendly and not too much of a bitch to make? Note: Trust me on this one, it's a gaggle of geese, a knot of toads, and a hoard of teens. |
A brace of conies. A few good taters. Po-tay-toes! Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew... Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish.
|
Oh, and onion rings.
|
Taters, precious!

Fried calamari rings onto which you have painstakingly written elvish phrases.
From your local Japanese butcher some orc-a sashimi. A box of Saltines where you have used Sharpie to cross out "Saltines" and have written instead: Lembas Wafers. |
Unless you consider having a bunch of teenagers in your home to be a valuable hidden resource, I think you mean horde.
I'd make crêpes. If they complained that it was insufficiently thematic, I'd tell them to make their own damned butterbeer. |
Also, what entertainment do you have lined up for hour three when they're no longer paying attention to the movies?
|
Wait. Did you want helpful suggestions?
|
Wait, are you suggesting my weren't?
