Survivor - One World

Survivor One world, or one beach, or one something, I'm fairly sure it has "one" in the title starts tonight.

Don't miss it like I did unless you don't care in which case it's OK.

Oops, missed it.

I understand that it is available for streaming from CBS.com

It's been said before, but it bears repeating... If you are selected to go on Survivor you really should learn how to make fire before you leave for the island.

On day one, being the only person on your tribe to flirt with the opposing tribe is not a winning strategy.

In a tribe of nine, four is not a majority.

Damn girls, get it together.

Has anybody actually died during Survivor? Because until those are the kind of odds we're talking, this show has no draw for me.

It always amazes me how little prep they do. You could at least google a few things. Maybe a little jaunt to REI?

Someone passed out face first into a fire.

I don't think REI would help. The survivors are very limited in what the can take, from what I have heard it's the clothes on their backs and one comfort item and there are very strict limits on what that "comfort" item can be. Bibles are OK, Swiss Army Knives not so much.

Right - but REI has books and experts from whom you could maybe find out things like edible plants, how to make a fire, etc.

Part of the "why don't they learn to make fire" thing could be a very short period of time between realizing you have a realistic chance of being on the show and actually being in the middle of the game.

I have no idea what the Survivor timeline is like but I did apply for The Amazing Race once and was surprised to learn there was only a couple weeks between learning you'd been selected for the show and the start for the race. If I'd been selected that period would have been awfully full just putting things in order for suddenly dropping out of my life for a month and a half.
