Today I saw at Disneyland

a brand new 50th banner across the smokestacks of the Mark Twain
an ugly rope "spiderweb" across the columns of the Haunted Mansion
"spinner" fireworks being set up on top of Sleeping Beauty Castle
2 new gold bands on two of the Castle towers
what looks to be a new stone bench in front of Tarzan's Treehouse, very picturesque
big blue tea-cozies on a carousel horse and 2 Dumbos
Storybookland's lighthouse getting gilded
a beautiful 50th logo on IASW, very Mary Blairy
a wall blocking the entrance area "Mickey" floral planting; when I peeked through the crack I saw
Spoiler:
a brand new 50th logo floral planting! (very pretty)

(and all the other stuff I'd already seen on the internet)

Dude. So pissed we can't make it to the park until next weekend!

It all sounds so great! I am looking forward to being surprised on the 5th.

We saw that on Tuesday and both thought it looked pretty lame. Everything else is looking cool though.

Oh, I forgot to mention, more tweaking of Madame Leota's seance scene! (and one singing bust was out of sync)

water at Chimichanga Gardens

and a really sweet display window in the passageway from Carnation Plaza Gardens to Fantasyland featuring historical photographs of the Castle and its construction

I thought the motorboat area had been drained. Did they put the water back in already?

They've sandbagged and blocked the view of the actual cruise part, but the load/unload area is open and the "pond" is refilled. No waterfall, though. I hope that it's being circulated somehow, or we'll all be eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Chimichanga Gardens lives again!

I just love the name "Chimichanga Gardens".
And so it shall ever be.

Ghoulish Delight 04-29-2005 01:25 PM

Hey, I coined "Chimichanga Park".

Gn2Dlnd 04-29-2005 01:30 PM

I knew I heard it somewhere.

Chimichanga Gardens does have a nice alliterative quality to it though.
