Microphone headset help

I'm trying to figure something out and it's proving impossible for me to research online.

I need a headset/microphone that will work with both my computer (for VOIP) and my phone. Possibly complicating things is the fact that my PC doesn't have a mic-in (it's got a built in mic only, that pretty well sucks).

I've got a bluetooth headset that works fairly well but 1) I don't like having to keep it charged and 2) constantly having to fiddle with things to get it to pair with my phone vs. my comp gets old.

Ideally (I think) what I want is a USB adapter that will allow me to us a wired headset for a phone that has mic-in and audio-out wired to the single mini-plug jack. Does such a thing exist?

That would work...but was hoping to not have to have the annoying intermediate adapter.

Reviews on this one are spotty...but the concept DOES exist.
