The word was created in 1931 by Helen Herman in the "The Daily Orange". Here's a scan of the original article.

Interesting. However, the word is slightly different, I wonder why it was changed? Did the Sherman brothers think it fit in the song better? Or did Dinsey change it due to legal issues?
