Diseny Queens

I know I could look this up, but before Elsa from Frozen who was the last Disney Queen?

Not counting Queen consorts.

To exist or to be a main character?

Because Rapunzel's mother was a queen.

Wasn't there a King, making Rapunzel's mother a Queen consort?

Do we have to go back as far as The Queen of Hearts?

Hmm-

Cinderella was a princess
Snow White was a princess
Jasmine was a princess
Rapunzel was a princess
Meridia was a princess
Sleeping Beauty was a princess
Ariel was a princess
Nala was a consort
Tiana is a princess

Princess Atta from Bugs life was in training to take over to be Queen but she wasn't actually queen yet. I think that's about the closest.

Obvious joke warning:

Nathan Lane as Timon comes to mind. I'm sure there have been more recent ones.

Awfully sexist of you to assume, lacking any evidence either way, partrilineal succession.

But just wait for enough straight-to-dvd sequels. Eventually Rapunzel will be queen.
