Need good location between LA and San Diego for dinner
A friend of mine will be visiting San Diego this week. I'd like to have dinner with him, but neither of us want to drive all the way to the other city. Can someone recommend a city and restaurant that's roughly mid-way between LA and SD?
The restaurant needs to be budget and family friendly. Thanks in advance. :) |
I'd recommend San Juan Capistrano. Nice little old town, lots of reasonable restaurants to choose from.
Also, easily accessible via train (the old town area is centered on the train station) for even less driving. |
That sounds like a great idea, thanks GD!

Seems like Orange County might be in the middle as well. So many places to choose from, I'm not sure how to choose!

While questing this issue, I came across MeetWays. It allows you to enter two addresses and/or ZIP codes and it will plot the half-way point for you. Pretty nifty!

So what was the halfway point of San Diego and LA?
|
Depends on where in LA, but San Juan Capistrano is pretty much half way (and a better choice than any slightly further North or South option).
|
Yes, San Juan is a great place to hang, I think. Don't know much about the restaurants, though.

Just got back from SJC. It was a pleasant drive for me and a nice train ride for my friend. Thank you for the great suggestion GD!

Which restaurant did you go to? How was it?
