Disneyland Before the Storm

We went to the park last night and had a few interesting observations:
  • Jungel Cruise - The new effects rock, they make the ride a lot more fun. I particularly like the pirahna effect.
  • Dole Whip - They were still serving when we passed by at 7:30, I hope this means the hours are expanding to indulge in this delicious treat.
  • Media - The prep is amazing, new light towers, stages, and cable running everywhere, even Carnation Gardens has been renamed the "Media Center" and had a pile of equipment ready to be installed.
  • The Buzz - I overheard so many conversations of people who are coming back on Thursday - heck I ran into people I work with who are also taking Thursday off. I'm beginning to think if Darkbeer bet me that the park would hit capacity on the 5th, I'd be buying him a beer. It's destined to be the busiest Thursday on record, I'm sure. If they can keep the buzz going this will be a very good year for Disneyland.

Very appropriate title as the weather forcast for Anaheim calls for rain tomorrow. :)

I can't wait to see the new Jungle Cruise additions and, of course, everything else. We were there a week ago but I'm sure that lots has changed since then.

Sadly, we can't make it to the park until possibly the weekend, and that is up in the air. Hope you all have a great time tomorrow. :)

Hmm, I'm getting sick (no, really!). Maybe if I mope around the office today I can call in sick tomorrow...

:cough: :cough: man I am exhausted and I don't know why.... I hope I'm not getting that 2nd strain of flu that's been going around. I hear my friends office has been hit pretty hard by it..... :cough:

I'm, uh... I'm, uh... such a geek.

I am considering going down tomorrow around 3pm (weather and capacity permitting.) I have a yen to catch the Opera House and the Jungle Cruise before Remember. And, although I really would like to see Remember again, I admit I mostly want to see friends see Remember.

I think they've started closing with the park, not just on busy days. I actually was curious on Sunday and inquired about closing times; the Dole Whip CM's said they've been closing with the park recently, depending on how busy they are.

Re: Dole Whips - perhaps this is also due to increased crowds to the Tiki Room? If they're getting large crowds in the evenings, they could be selling more Dole goodies as a result.

Man, now I'm wishing I had taken the whole day off instead of just the morning. Oh well, I'll be there at opening and we'll get a lot in before 1pm....right??

As for my morning job, I actually told people I was taking the day off for DL festivities. I have no fear of being thought of as a dork. :p One teacher actually asked me to buy a pin for her. :)

Thanks for the news €, I had no clue JC was open!

Hehehe. It's the same situation at my work. I'm getting off work early today (to head to DCA) and have 05-05-05 off as well. My manager "understood" my reasons for taking the day off and no one in my office would have believed me if I called in sick on May 5 anyway. ;) The only condition was that I had to get my manager a new 50th antenna topper--not a problem.

See you all at the Happiest Homecoming on Earth this weekend! :)
