The shoe-maker's family...
Ugh, what an idiot I am.
So we bought a new digital camera one year ago (almost exactly). It's an awesome camera. Small, lightweight, great images, fantastic optical zoom. It has one issue, it doesn't take very good night shots. Our last camera took fantastic night shots and we really have missed that.
Well, for a while now, mousepod's been looking for a new camera himself and I've kinda been his sounding board during the process. I've been recommending our camera (well, at least the brand because our model's discontinued). That prompted me to look at reviews for our camera for kicks. Well in browsing through them, I notice one that says, "The night shot bug has been fixed, see my website". Of course, he failed to actually link to his website. But I went to the manufacturers website, and sure enough there's a firmware update that addresses problems with long-exposure shots!!!!
Here's the kicker, I went back and looked at the review...it was dated October 2003. I'm such an idiot. My JOB is to keep track of firmware levels. And here was a simple firmware fix for the ONE thing we don't like about the camera, and I never even thought to look for a firmware update. Idiot.
