I can't figure out how to send a Quicktime video...
I took a mini-video thingy (do not laugh at me for my lack of technical jargon!) on my digital camera and want to send it to someone via email....I downloaded it from my camera, which made it into a Quicktime video, which plays on Realplayer on my computer...
How do I send this to someone via email? Help me Obi-Wan..your my only hope! |

Depending on how big it is, you may not be able to. There is usually a limit on the size an email attachment may be (often 1MB).

I did figure it out..I think the heat was melting my brain!
Is there a way to decrease the size of something like that? |
Not really, quicktime files are already compressed. Using something like WinZip is only going to shrink it by about 5 or 6 percent.

Depending on what software you have, you may be able to reduce the frame size - it makes for lesser quality of course, but it is an option.
Also, possibly break it up into multiple parts. And this is more of a general comment/question: are there "public" file transfer systems available? I know I will sometimes use my .Mac account to transfer large files (when sneaker net is not an option), or I can also use my company's ftp site (but I really don't want to do this too much even though I am the only one in the company who really knows how to use it). Is there an ftp service out there? |
