It must have been because he looks so trustworthy.

I mean, who wouldn't trust a face like this.

Quote:

On April 25, Gregory Despres arrived at the U.S.-Canadian border crossing at Calais, Maine, carrying a homemade sword, a hatchet, a knife, brass knuckles and a chain saw stained with what appeared to be blood. U.S. customs agents confiscated the weapons and fingerprinted Despres.

Then they let him into the United States.

Despres, 22, immediately became a suspect because of a history of violence between him and his neighbors, and he was arrested April 27 after police in Massachusetts saw him wandering down a highway in a sweat shirt with red and brown stains.
So the sweatshirt was the tip-off and not the chainsaw?

I refuse to believe that this man is anything but a creation of George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic come to life. Obviously science has advanced to that of the ridiculous Denzel Washington / Russell Crowe movie in which a virtual reality Crowe becomes a real boy and sets out to murder a bunch of people at a Eurotrash disco.

Flat out REFUSE!

Of course they let him into the US. He was too heavily armed to be Canadian...obviously an American citizen.

And he ditched his neighbor's car and hitchhiked to the border crossing. Hitchhiked! I can't imagine how that scene played out. The person saw him with his thumb out, thought to himself, hey, there's a fine looking fella who needs a ride! Oh how quaint, he has a bloody chainsaw with him, I haven't seen one of those in ages, I think I'll give him a ride to whatever fun destination he must be headed for!

Dammit! Stuck in traffic and GD beat me to posting the story. I hadn't seen the photo, though. Wow.
