Fantasy Football
That's right, it's June, time to start thinking football, right? :D Assuming you've stopped thinking football.
For the past several seasons, I've been playing fantasy football through Yahoo. I've done the public leagues which just stick me with random people and use the default scoring and roster settings. I actually one my league last season and get the privelage of joining a "winners" league this season (and probably subsequently getting my ass beat). Well, I decided that, since I'm going to get destroyed in that league by strangers, I might as well also play against people I actually give a crap about. So I've started my own league as well. I tweaked some of the league rules since some of the defaults annoyed me (you should get a point for every 10 rushing yards not every 20!). There's room for up to 20 teams in the league, though only a minimum of 4 is necessary. It's called "Lounge of Touchdowns". If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you a link and the password you'll need to join the league. See y'all on the virtual gridiron! |
Wow, I thought there'd be at least some interest.

Do we need a "crickets chirping" smiley?

I'm game.

wOOt! That's one. Remember, the longer you wait to sign up, the less time you have to obsess over arranging your draft order!
|
Let's see, draft order:
I'll take: Miller, Bud, and Coors (not in that order.) |
While I am the veteren of many a football pool and the like, I have never been part of any fantasy football league. I would suppose there is some sort of rules/instructions on the Yahoo site - no time to sign up now, but Monday at the latest.
Time to learn something new. However, if this becomes obsessive, I will hold you responsible, GD. |

I should fix that weatherstripping. |

I always find football lends itself the best to fantasy play because of the infrequency of the games. When I've tried other sports, I invariably got frustrated as I would get too busy, forget to check my lineup for a day or two, and come back and find half my lineup injured or their team didn't play, etc. With football, you've got a week to remember, research, strategize, and make your move. Much more leisurely and easy to keep up with. |
Count me in........
