AP Black-out tix unavailable 7/17! (EH1812 posting for LSPoorEeyorick)
Hey, gang, LSPoorEeyorick here (via [Eliza or Tom], since LoT is
blocked at work!) I just spoke with guest services, and I got several important questions answered. 1)Black-out tickets for Annual Passholders will NOT BE AVAILABLE for 7/17. The word came down from TPTB to Guest Services today. D'oh! They are going to make a mint on us. 2) The Timon lot will be open at midnight (so presumably it won't be closing), and the ticket booth will be open at 1:30 AM. Guest Services said that they have to vacate Disneyland before they can begin the line-up into DCA. 3) There will be no free-roaming on line at DCA. If you leave the line you will need someone to hold your place for you. There will be nowhere to sit other than the ground. 4) For guests who have need of a wheelchair (or heck, whose legs get tired after standing or sitting on the concrete for four hours) the rentals will become available at DCA at 3AM. All things are, as they said, subject to change without notice! |
Wow. All those upgrades...

A *mint* almost seems like an understatment. I'll be sad to miss out on the fun, but I'll just console myself with Potter. There's no way I could afford the weekend, anyway.
So, Potter, Potter, Potter. And then I'll be the first to finish and will not have anyone to talk with about it! Heh. |

Well, that royally sucks. Thanks Disneyland for letting us know 3 days ahead of time that if we want to attend, we will pay double what we were planning to. Walt would be proud.
We have no interest in upgrading our passes as they expire Sept. 4th. If we did so, the only difference would be that we would be able to go on Saturdays. Not worth $240. Hopefully, we will still be going but this really screws with our budget, which was slim to begin with. Boo to Disneyland. :( |
FYI, someone on MiceChat also called and got a different story (from Disney? Never). The person they talked to said they might be availalbe, and to get there early if you want any chance.

Just got off the phone with Guest Relations as well. I said that with all the websites and information, there has been conflicting information. He was really nice, and said that it's literally changing hourly for them as well. But he says, according to his lead/manager/TDA, that the truly deciding factor is how many people are there at opening. If it's not as packed as they expect it, then they will sell Blackout Day Tix. I called, because I don't have a pass now, and planned on using the 'cheat', and buying a SoCal pass. He said that they havn't even mentioned that to anyone. The BO day tix are the big issue, and proving that it really is 'subject to change without yadda...' :)

i have two "official" and "Updated" Q and A speils - that completely contradict each other... that is why i cannot offer any "final' word... it is a very tough position to be in. i have been told which one to speil, but, they both claim to be "official" and "updated".
 if i do get a sense of the final word, i will let you know. |
