I've been vandalized

Well, actually, a large portion of the neighborhood has.

No fewer than six cars (that's how many my wife saw when driving around the neighborhood today) had windows busted out of them during the night. My Hyundai Santa Fe had 3 - the back and the two quarter windows. The thing that upset me most was that nothing was stolen. So these stupid people just went around smashing windows (presumably with a bat) for fun.

Very glad I pay the extra $7 annually for full glass coverage with no deductable. Estimates were from 990-1200. Was fortunate enough to get it repaired today. Shop vac worked overtime today.

Ouch. At least they stopped at petty vandalism...hmm, I just got our auto insurance renewal, I wonder how much glass coverage costs.

You know, members of Clinton's adminstration are against vandalizm. ;)

I quite seriously considered saying my shop vac was sucking up glass so well Clinton wanted its phone number - just to get him into the post.

Wow. That really sucks. It's always in the back of my mind that the people in my apartment complex are more than capable of something like that. I definitely feel for you.

Now I'm picturing Bill Clinton with a shop vac sucking away on his .......auto.

I so enjoy having a garage.

scaeagles 07-21-2005 06:06 PM

I have a garage. Unfortunately, with kids bikes and various and sundry crap collected over the years, only one car fits.

Kels 07-21-2005 06:17 PM

That totally sucks. Hooray for being a smartie and getting the added insurance.

Even garages aren't necessarily safe. A couple of months ago, someone hijacked our opener code and stole my compressor. Came back two nights later to steal the shop vac.

The day after the second break-in, I installed a locking latch on the garage door. The latch cost $12. The drill bit I needed to drill a hole for the latch to slide into cost $24. The drill with a chuck large enough to accomodate that bit cost $68. Oh the irony of it all.
