Holy crap. That sucks. Glad no serious injuries, though. Waddaya think - operator error?

Motorboat Cruiser 07-29-2005 09:16 PM

possibly, or mechanical failure of part of the braking system.

a very busy day for DLR Media relations indeed.

Thank God no one was killed.

Thank goodness there weren't any serious injuries!

24 passengers, 2 cars. 48 people on the ride. Where's the "at least 60" coming from exactly?

DisneyFan25863 07-29-2005 11:27 PM

Funny how ABC has no mention of it at all on their site...

Also, perhaps people on the ground were involved as well? Falling debris?

I don't see how the block system would allow this though, because with brake failure, the trains would crash at a much higher rate of speed...

Small children riding on their parents shoulders.

No, really, kids on laps.

Just kidding, it was actually unrelated to the coaster. Apparently there was a group of people that had watched a video of Superstar Limo earlier in the day...

That is what the link I posted originally reported. It has been updated since.

Edited to add: I guess it still does say 60 in the headline. I recall the numbers being different in the actual story earlier though and noticed that it had been updated.

The pic and description make it seem that it was at the end of the ride, before entering the station. No one underneath that.

The numbers in the article totally contradict the number in the headline.
