Becoming addicted to online poker
I've recently started playing online poker....it's a damn good thing I don't live in Vegas.
Only started playing two days ago, and I stayed up until 2am (had to get up at 5am) playing. Played in my first tourney today and won. It's all play money, so that takes a bit of the realism out of it, but in the tournaments, when winning the tourney is the goal, there is a little more realism because in non-tournament play, some players just bet anything because it's not real money. Anyone else play? |
My roommate used to play a lot. Like you, he did extremely well in the free play. Not so well in "real money" mode. It definitely gets more difficult. :)
Personally though, if I'm going to play poker, I want to see the faces of the people I'm playing with. Just a personal preference. |
I don't think i'd play for real money online - too much of a need to read your opponents.

My husband is obsessed with the online poker. Actually, with poker in general. If I'm watching teevee and leave for even a moment to visit the facilities I come back to poker. Because there is always poker on teevee somewhere.

Well, Prudence, I see in your pic there that the Queen of Hearts is walking all over him.....is this a psychological thing? Was he burned in some poker hand by a Queen of Hearts on the turn or the river?

Ha! (And she was teaching me to do the same!)
Alas, I know not whether he is successful or otherwise at his poker endeavors. When I go upstairs and he's playing online he acts like he's been caught watching a live stripper cam and acts all antsy until I leave. |
