TV as decoration? Absolutely!
I must say, I love these! http://www.predicta.com/index.shtml It would do nothing for widescreen films, however.

Those ARE awesome! You're right, too small for main viewing, but a great option for that second TV in the back room.

Those are so cool!

Love how they used old ads to illustrate the models! Snow |
Very retro, cool! A bit pricey though. DH is all about bigger and better screens at the moment (he's dreaming of a projector for the addition we plan to build) so I have no worries about having to get one of these ;)

Personally, I hate televisions in the home. I used to put a round table top on mine, cover it with a cloth and, voila, end table. Out of necessity and comfort, mine now sit like an ugly behemouth in full sight of anyone entering my house. No longer do the TV addicts wonder aloud with alarm "Where's your TV". It's there for all to see in all it's ugly, gigantic glory.
The thoughts of having a televisions that was also very entertaining to look at while off, is highly desireable to me. But, since I do watch the majority of my films at home, I would like the experience to be a quality one. And, since I REFUSE to have more than one TV in the house, the one I have better be good. It's such a delima. |

May parents still have a functioning 1960s black and white tv in the garage. Unfortunately, it's an entirely uninteresting piece, just a wood box with 4 legs.

I was checking out this one and noticed the screen size is 18". How cool would it be if this were a computer monitor?!
Too bad these are so pricey, they're awesome. |
