A Little Prayer & Share Thread
I just wanted to start a little Prayer Thread.
My brother (whom some of you have met, and know as "Smee" from MP! He hasn't posted in ages!) came and visited me today! I was so happy to see him, but surprised to see him so early on a work day. He told me right away he had just come from a funeral. One of his friends had died. I know how awful loss can be. I know that sudden and numb feeling after experiencing sudden death. Golly, it happens with prolonged death, too. There is no such thing as an "easy" death. However, I've never lost somebody I know to the act of murder. God forbid, I cannot imagine that trauma, and rage. My brother's friend Holly was reported missing on Sunday, and her body was found on a stretch of highway Tuesday night. She had been stabbed to death, and her boyfriend has been arrested. :mad: My brother told me she had been trying to break up with him. They believe she finally had broken up with him when he decided to murder her, then steal her car and "try" :rolleyes: to kill himself. Holly was only 29, my brother's age. My brother had last seen her Thursday night. He told me it still hasn't sunk in. He still looks for Holly's car, almost expecting to see her. I know that feeling, too. I wish I could protect people from it. It's such an awful tragedy, so I'm going to link you to a couple of news stories where, if you are interested, you can read the story yourself. Why is it that when there is a tragedy committed by a whacked out piece of human refuse, and they attempt suicide, they always fail? :mad: I guess it either fate's sick sense of justice, or a sad, sad irony. :rolleyes:
My heart goes out to your brother, Ally. Let him know my simpathies for him in his loss of a friend. I know you will do your best to comfort him when things get rough as the reality of Holly's death sinks in. My prayers to the Lake family too. Such a loss to have to endure. |
