The plundering of the Poseidon
 

I refuse to put this in "Beatnik" because I don't consider it entertainment :p .

So someone on MiceChat posted an image of Kurt Russel on the set of "Poseidon", a remake of "The Poseidon Adventure" due to come out in 2006. Lame, lame, lame. But that's only half of this story.

Still, when you remake old movies - it's hard to stick with completely unbelievable things like a giant wave that can capsize the Queen Mary. Pulease.

I love the old version, and I think terrorist-attack is beyond stupid. But I can't blame them for trying to come up with some more plausible reason for the entire situation to exist.

Plausible-shmausible, they tack "TERRORISM" on there so that fear-stricken people will watch it. :rolleyes: It has nothing to do with plausibility.

Besides, what kind of terrorist attack could flip over the ship?

The kind where the terrorists explode their superfilthydirtybomb in the depths of the Maktiallup Trench off the Azores, thus generating the Super Wave aimed for hurricane-ravaged N'Orleans, but which accidentally capsizes the Poseidon on its cruise to Mexico!!

But it stars Steve Guttenberg!

I wonder if he'll will wear his trademark short shorts and rollerblade through NY city as he did in Can't Stop The Music? That would be sweet.

It also stars a Baldwin brother! I wonder if he will do anything Baldwin-esque? That would be sweet, too.

I always loved all of the old disaster movies, the "Airplane" movies, "Towering Inferno", "Earthquake" (which I saw in Sensurround, ooooooooh), etc... I sure don't think we need to start remaking them all with terrorists though. Lame.
