Help Me! iPOD or iRiver?
Okay, I am fighting the desire to buy one of these mp3 puppies. I'm fighting with myself because I'm wondering, am I being abuckling to some evil marketing ploy? Do I really need this widget?
I confess, the idea of storing mega amounts of my music in this compact format is ultra appealing. So, for those of you with such devices, what are the pluses and minuses iPOD v. iRiver? I have not looked at iRiver too much yet. I know one of the downsides on the iPOD is the price and all the damned accessories you may need are a la carte..... Thanks in advance for any advice or comments. Donna |
I don't know much about the iRiver, but I love my iPod.
Love it, love it. :) |

iPods are the easiest to get into for beginners. Simple controls, easy interface via iTunes, etc. The price is it's biggest downer. I'm on my 4th Gen of iPod now, a 30GB Photo. I started with a 1 Gen 5GB, moved to a 10GB 2nd Gen (still not enough space), bumped to a 20GB 3rd Gen (barely enough space) and now have my Photo, which has pretty much all the music I listen to (and some I hardly ever do) with a few gigs of storage left over for shuttling things around.
iRiver makes a good product, but their strongest product is the Media Player, for video. And it's somewhat large for the MP3 world. I'd say go with an iPod... Of course, look at my avatar... |
Well, I knew I would get the answers I needed, so I came to the right place!
I guess this makes me a slave to trendiness....I'll go with an iPOD. Donna |
Wait! I KNOW there is a hardcore Apple person here that LOVES his iRiver. We just need to scare him up.
