RIP Don Adams - AKA Maxwell Smart
 

Just heard he died yesterday.

I absolutely loved the show Get Smart and whenever I find it on in a rerun somewhere I will watch it. I still quote some of the lines.

My favorite was the episode where he was battling the Chinese Villian known as "The Claw", because he had a metalic prosthetic arm. Being that the Chinese could not pronounce the lette L, he referred to himself as "The Craw" and would become incensed when anyone else called him that screaming, "Not Craw, Craw!".

RIP Maxwell Smart.

He had a sense of comic timing that I absolutely adored. Always able to get a laugh with what he didn't say as much as with what he did.

That's a shame, he was a very funny and talented man. :(

If only he had lived four more years... ;)

God speed, Agent 86. Keep fighting Chaos in the hereafter.

Damn. He had a great voice. One of those wonderful, instantly recognizable voices. It's a shame that show isn't better remembered.

"Would you believe....?"
"Missed it by that much!"
and, of course, the Cone of Silence.

Sigh.

And we still await the shoe phone....

Aw, I shall miss him

R.I.P. I always wanted a shoe phone. Its ironic that a week after they announce the "Get Smart" movie this happens. I hope Steve Carrell does him justice.

I will have to pop some popcorn and eat it out of the old yellowware bowl, since that is what my Dad and I did every week when Get Smart was on. My Dad LOVED that show. I LOVED to hear my Dad laugh like that. Thank you Don Adams for making my Dad laugh.


Oh, and I want my Dad's Shoe Phone back. ;)
