MOCA - ECSTASY In and About Altered States
As a MOCA member I got an invite to an opening of the new show at the Geffen Contemporary, ECSTASY In and about Altered States. It opens to members on Saturday, October 8, with a performance piece by Lara Favaretto, and DJ set by Sandra Collins.
To quote MOCA about the exhibit: Quote:
![]() Carsten HöllerUpside Down Mushroom Room I think this might be a fun one to go to, perhaps working in a Downtown LA swanking in the mix. The show runs through February 20. Post if you are interested and I'll work out the details of this one. |
Veddy, veddy eentadesting...
|
So in.
|
Wow! That looks like a place I could live...
|
Duuuuude. Are you seeing this? I'm totally tripping out.
No way we'd miss this! |
As you might imagine, I'm already arranging for the appropriate consumables for hanging out in the upside down mushroom-room.
Just say when. |
We have become ore with the snake
|
We're here a MOCA sitting on a giant snake popping pink and white pills - REALLY!
|
"Riiiiide the snake!"
That was too cool... I'm still completely fascinated by my experience in the flashing room... I never felt so high when I wasn't at all. Completely threw me off. I hope to go again... |
So last night Not Afraid and I decided to hit the opening with Blueerica and Tramspotter. Needless to saw we had quite a time, starting with the festive party favors:
And who could resist takng just one from this accomodating group: No pics were allowed inside the Museum, but outside the site transformed a little patch of Downtown into an ecstatic wonderland: But then things got a bit fuzzy: And a colorful rain began: And we found comfort with a snake: And we were transformed: And quite dilerious Until we had to go home: And leave the confetti behind: For more pics of our adventure through inner swank go here |
